The long road to California...

Hello again to everyone!

Looks like we are getting this site up and running again since we have to keep a certain daddy in Iraq updated. It appears that he will have limited internet and phone access, but is able to check this site for pictures! So, it looks like everyone is going to reap the benefits of me putting up pictures often of Layla as she changes and grows so rapidly!

I have many things to keep us busy while we are here so I am looking forward to this deployment going by very quickly and getting my honey home!!! This is certainly a HUGE new chapter in our lives, right darling? So we are truly looking forward to the end of the deployment for countless reasons.

Without further jibber jabber as I know everyone that checks this site is just interested in seeing Layla.....here are several different pictures from the drive out to California from North Carolina...a 5 day, 4 night event!

Love to all and to Matthew, kisses from your girls.

Deployment 2008

Welcome back, everyone!

Well, here we go again. I cannot believe it has been a year and we are starting the whole thing over again. Thankfully, I am not pregnant this deployment so hopefully we can get through this one with less of an emotional fireworks show, more like an emotional roller coaster. So, to start things off and update everyone on where we stand right now....

Layla is turning 6 months old this week....Feb. 22nd
She has started crawling backwards and has started saying "Mama" when she wants me. What a joy it is to hear that sweet little voice already! She loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on tv and jumping in her Door Jumper. She laughs hysterically at our dogs and finds them to be so much fun to hit, grab, pull fur, and lay on. The dogs respond SO well to her as they just sit there and sniff her and let her do pretty much whatever she wants to them. I am always there to protect her though, just in case! Layla's 6 month appointment will be next week and will be the first one that Matthew has been able to attend since Layla's 2 week appointment! He is VERY excited! We also will start her on solids next week and he is looking forward to that! Layla is rolling all over the place both ways and seems to favor her right hand slightly.

Anyway, Matthew is gone this week in Virginia for training and so far the training has not gone quite according to plan from what I have heard. Oh well, at least he is getting ready for the deployment! He did find out he is going to Iraq which is going to be hard on everyone, but he will be home quickly to see his girls, I know it! He will be leaving in early April sometime.

Around the time that Matthew leaves for deployment, Layla and I will be heading for a cross country roadtrip with the doggies with the assistance of Matthew's sweet dad.

So, this is just a quick update to get this site going again. I will be updating the pictures and such for everyone to see picture of the three of us! Please enjoy!

Much love,
Katie
